“does fashion change”

The errors could be related to these retailers’ race to adapt to the breakneck speed at which style trends now move. H&M, Zara and other fast-fashion brands have dramatically accelerated how quickly an idea can get from the design studio to the store, compressing that process from several months to a matter of weeks. And shoppers have much more access to what’s hot, thanks to live-streamed runway shows and a steady diet of Instagram photos. As a result, retailers are rethinking all aspects of the business, from supply chains to design calendars to marketing tactics. Amid those dizzying attempts at transformation, it’s been hard to get the basics right.
A hopeful note appeared in May when Levi’s debuted a prototype of jeans in partnership with the textile technology startup Evrnu, made with a mix of virgin and chemically recycled cotton from old T-shirts. Evrnu says its technology isn’t sensitive to certain dyes, and it hopes to eventually make jeans from 100 percent post-consumer cotton waste. But they never tested the jeans, so don’t know what percent of the denim was the recycled cotton. Plus, there’s no timeline available yet for when these jeans will become available.
The fashion industry is seeing how 3D printing technology has influenced designers such as Iris Van Herpen and Kimberly Ovitz. These designers have been heavily experimenting and developing 3D printed couture pieces. As the technology grows, the 3D printers will become more accessible to designers and eventually consumers, which could potentially shape the fashion industry entirely.
Fashion is a very detailed subject and interest of research which is taught at several world renowned institutes of world . For example Fashion institute of technology in USA and National institute of fashion technology based in India which has produced several notable professionals , alumni and designers in this field .
Woooo new year, new season—ergo, new you. What that means is an improved and a very-2017 (and not, ugh, 2016) wardrobe update that hits all of spring’s major trends. Although, let’s not dismiss 2016 in its entirety—it’s more of an evolved look rather than a complete fashion overhaul. Take utilitarianism, for instance. The core elements are still there, like the khaki textiles and no-nonsense attitude, but there’s more of a polished flair in the form of a clean-cut (albeit exaggerated) shape and playful parachute toggles, used to highlight the silhouette.
Who would have known back in 2010 when One Direction was being mentored by Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole that Zayn Malik would become a genuine global superstar. But love him or hate him few could deny that Malik was born to the role and that few of his peers look the part with such aplomb. He can certainly claim to be one of the best-dressed ex-boy band members in history. Sartorially he has never been afraid to push boundaries while knowing precisely which basics suit him, too. Gone is the slogan T-shirt skateboard grunge of his younger days. Not that he is ever afraid to experiment – from shaving his hair off or dying it blond, or rocking a pyjama suit – while always keeping true to the tried and tested favourites such as black jeans, leather jackets and high-tops, as well as his favourite double-breasted jackets to give him that classic gym-honed V-shape. And with fame comes advantages and he is equally at home in Louis Vuitton or Valentino as he is in street brands – whether he is on the red carpet or papped out shopping with supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid. Truly, he is the very model of the modern superstar. Robert Johnston, Fashion Director at GQ
Furthermore, political revolution also made much impact on the fashion trend. For example, during the 1960s the economy had become wealthier, divorce rate was increasing and government approved the birth control pill. This revolution inspired younger generation to rebellion. In 1964, the leg-baring miniskirt has become a major fashion trend of the 1960s. Given that fashion designers began to experiment with the shapes of garment, loose sleeveless, micro-minis, flared skirts, and trumpet sleeves. In this case, mini-skirt trend became an icon of the 1960s.

As I opened the CT scan last week to read the next case, I was baffled. The history simply read “gunshot wound.” I have been a radiologist in one of the busiest trauma centers in the United States for 13 years, and have diagnosed thousands of handgun injuries to the brain, lung, liver, spleen, bowel, and other vital organs. I thought that I knew all that I needed to know about gunshot wounds, but the specific pattern of injury on my computer screen was one that I had seen only once before.
In a higher-education system that is often divided between two- and four-year colleges and further segregated between elite and nonelite institutions, it’s not often that a community college is mentioned in the same breath as an Ivy League campus. Nor is a two-year college seen as a training ground for jobs in the so-called creative economy, which include industries such as design, fashion, and computer gaming that typically require bachelor’s degrees.
“I’ve been struck by it,” Steven Kolb, the chief executive of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, said on Tuesday. After all, many fashion stakeholders spoke out vociferously earlier this year against President Trump’s policies on women’s rights.
Famous for its creations in polycarbonate, the Italian brand Kartell recently added to their range of imaginative toys a line of doll houses quite different from what we’re used to seeing around there.
“My French identity is reinforced by the very large number of people who openly declare, often now with violence, their hostility to French values and culture,” he said. “I live in a strange place. There is so much guilt and so much worry.” We were seated at a table in his apartment, near the Luxembourg Gardens. I had come to discuss with him the precarious future of French Jewry, but, as the hunt for the Charlie Hebdo killers seemed to be reaching its conclusion, we had become fixated on the television.

Then, one warm June week in Paris, Abe’s minder attended his first Men’s Fashion Week and discovered that he understood even less. Fashion shows had an unexpected sideshow-freaks-on-parade quality, and when they were not pompous or eccentric, they were just plain goofy. You drove all the way across Paris to get to the venue—a special mapping algorithm seemed to have been employed to ensure that every show was held as far as possible from its predecessor and its successor on the schedule—through the heat of a Paris summer, arrived late yet still waited around outside until your feet hurt, guaranteeing you would be late for the next show, too. Then you sat in a dark, loud, hot, crowded room for another 20 minutes. The lights came on and the music pounded. There would be a wall made out of old car headlights and a sonic wall of EDM, and a bunch of tall, bony, pouting young men with a studied air of opiate addiction would come striding past you, swinging their arms, like little boys pretending to walk like their dads in a game of playing house. This gait was meant to read as “fierce,” someone explained to Abe’s minder, as was the expression on the models’ faces, a universal stony blank, tinged with rouge, onto which it was forbidden to affix a smile.

Now Marchesa has become yet another symbol of Mr. Weinstein’s abuse of power, a brand he helped mastermind and support. There is now a #boycottmarchesa hashtag on Twitter. Helzberg Diamonds, which held the license for Marchesa’s bridal jewelry, announced it had delayed the planned line.

Love it or hate it, we predict that see-through clothing, bags, and shoes will be one of spring’s major trends. Thank Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, who for spring created a rain forest-esque set, complete with a waterfall. He dressed his models in plastic bombers, plastic bucket hats and plastic boots. Valentino, Balmain, CALVIN KLEIN 205W39 and Off-White also featured key pieces created in the synthetic material.

Soon, Anthropologie was admitting that it had struggled to merchandize for its customers’ lifestyle: The bastion of bohemian-chic suffered last year when it didn’t offer enough casual dresses, apparently failing to understand that shoppers’ calendars were heavier on weekend barbecues than cocktail soirees. It also acknowledged that it didn’t deliver some of the silhouettes and fabrics women were looking for.
“Nick Grimshaw can ‘rock up’ whatever he wears. Whether it is a slim-fitting two-button suit or a biker jacket with a shirt, Nick twists it to his personality.” James Sleaford, Fashion Director, GQ France
These brands have misread their customers in other ways, too. Ann Taylor has been slow to adapt to loosened office dress codes and a moment when women want versatile pieces that go from work to weekend. Banana Republic faltered when it tried to push a trendier vibe on its audience of cubicle warriors and soccer moms. In February, Peck — the chief executive of Gap, Banana Republic’s parent company — said, “We took Banana to a place where we were trying to lead on fashion and trend, and she does not want Banana to be that.” Executives are working on a return to the classics, but sagging sales show that it hasn’t resonated yet with customers.

I’ll never forget the day I tried to put a plaid shirt with plaid shorts on my son. I thought it was fine, but it seems I was very, very, wrong. Every woman I’ve ever known thought I had recently suffered a head injury, and even a couple of my guy friends thought I was somewhat visually impaired. Clearly my son’s chances at the Supreme Court were diminishing.
